Coast Contra is an acclaimed American hip-hop collective known for their intricate lyricism, synchronized cyphers, and a classic boom-bap, West Coast sound that has earned them comparisons to a modern-day Wu-Tang Clan. Formated in 2015, the Los Angeles-based group consists of four core lyricists: Eric Jamal, Rio Loz (Mario Lozano Mosquera), and twin brothers Ras Austin and Taj Austin (the sons of West Coast rap pioneer Ras Kass and R&B singer Teedra Moses).

The group skyrocketed in popularity due to their viral “The Table” freestyle sessions on Coast Contra’s YouTube Channel, most notably the Never Freestyle Video and the Scenario Freestyle Video. They released their critically acclaimed debut album, Apt. 505, named after the apartment complex where the group lived together and formed.
