Lil Durk acquitted of all charges in murder-for-hire case
Lil Durk (born Durk Devontay Banks) is a 33-year-old Grammy-winning American rapper from Chicago. Widely recognized as a commercial pioneer of the Chicago drill music subgenre, he has achieved massive chart success with seven top-five albums on the US Billboard chart and hits like “All My Life” featuring J. Cole.
On September 11, 2026, a federal jury in Los Angeles found Lil Durk not guilty on all charges in his high-profile murder-for-hire trial. He had been accused of orchestrating a 2022 retaliatory ambush against rival rapper Quando Rondo that resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin. Despite the acquittal, he remains in federal custody ahead of a separate October 2026 racketeering trial in Chicago.
